Scott Mills visits China

Here is information about my trip to China. I will try to provide updates and images of journey when in China. You can use the Blog Archive to see the different parts of my trip. I leave from Indianapolis on Wed. April 6 at 10 AM and return to Indy on April 24 at 10 PM. The purpose of my trip is to try to establish a relationship with a sister school in China. Through this relationship, I hope to help establish an exchange program with that school that might include students and teachers.

Tuesday, April 12                   • 10:30-11:30 am Chinese Education and Reform Introduction (Chinese Ministry of Education)
• Afternoon:  Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City
• Welcome dinner by CEAIE

Wednesday, April 13             • 10:00 am-12:00 pm:  Workshop on role of principal, curriculum and examination system, moral education, and mental and physical health in school, educational reform
•  Afternoon:  Visit National Day School and Longhai School

Thursday, April 14                 • 10:00 am-12:00 pm:  Workshop on Chinese Education:  Background on secondary education, international exchange, school finance, advance studies, teacher preparation, and professional development
                                                •  2:00- 4:00 pm: Challenges Met by Chinese Principals and its Relationship with their Professional Development (Beijing National Day School)
                                                Visit Beijing Normal University and Hongqiao Market
Friday, April 15                      • 10:00 am-12:00 pm: Workshop on administrative management in elementary education and educational reform
• Afternoon: Visit Great Wall
Saturday, April 16                  • Morning: Visit Temple of Heaven
                                                Fly from Beijing to Shenyang, Liaoning CZ6112, 3:10 PM to begin School Sha                                          School shadowing.
